Get High

Hello! Welcome to Daynadream.

After a stressful week of activities and more coming my way, it is only appropriate to take some time for oneself, revisit human's truest essence (a.k.a. nature) and release some of that tension clenching your jaw. A few classmates of mine had recommended we go an a short road trip to a newly opened highland resort calles 'Ilaya Highland Resort' at Patag,Silay.

I was a little hesitant at first as the journey seemed quite far but seeing how stressed I've been getting, i thought it was a much deserved treat. Plus we had ample amount of time between classes (4 hours to be precise). So we went forth!

Other than getting lost twice and thankfully not murdered (we accidentally made a wrong turn to a forestry, isolated, off road-ed dead end) we eventually found the place with the help of the locals in the area. Though there were a few kids who got pretty scared probably thinking we were kidnappers (we wanted to ask them for the location) as we approached them in a pick up truck rolling the tinted windows down revealing 4 men and a lady hahah! I don't blame those kids.

Finally making it to the venue, it was pretty nice. The service was efficient, not the best in English but that can be improved on. They tried their best to help. The entrance fee is a little pricey if you're on a budget PHP 200. But the view you get (hoping there's no fog) is priceless. Imagine seeing the whole of Silay, Talisay and part Bacolod from the resort! Truly breathtaking.

We ate in the restaurant in the resort. The prices were average as well as the taste. Some of the dishes were incredible, some were not. Inconsistency at best but thankfully, their coffee did us justice. They have amazing americanos (THE COFFEE) up there with a native blend which is actually for free as when you purchase the entrance fee, you get a coupon for a free coffee or iced tea.

Of course it is highly essential to take some arty-ish photos. Luckily my friend brought his OPPO which by the way, I was shookt to see how amazing the camera is.

The place is decorated by a lovely array of greenery, flowers, nipa huts, stonework, wood. Very nice ambience and very peaceful.

There is also an infinity pool overlooking the amazing view (it costs PHP 100 extra to use the pool). You may also rent a kubo (hut) for an additional PHP 500.

Over all I would say it is a bit pricey for budgeted people, but if you can afford to drive, have the willpower and energy to the distance of this resort, then I'm sure the prices stated are worth it. After all, what's the price of a resort compared to your well-being?
